Rubye Lane Residential Care Homes provide a calm, home-centered environment where elders receive personalized care with dignity, compassion, and respect. Unlike larger facilities, Rubye Lane homes are intentionally small, allowing each resident to be known personally and supported in a peaceful setting.

Our goal is to create a place where residents feel comfortable and cared for while families feel confident their loved one is in a nurturing home. We serve this compassionate care to families in Cary, Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and surrounding North Carolina communities.

About our founder

Dr. Avery Atkinson, DMin

Rubye Lane was founded by a medical chaplain and holistic wellness practitioner with more than a decade of experience providing residential and in-home care for adults.

Her background includes working closely with individuals and families in hospitals, hospice, and palliative care settings, where the focus is not only physical comfort but also emotional, spiritual, and relational support.

Rubye Lane was inspired by the experience of caring for her own grandmother, Rubye Lolita Avery Watson through the final chapter of her life, including her time on hospice. That experience shaped a vision for a different kind of care environment, one that feels peaceful, personal, and deeply compassionate.

Professional Referrals Welcome

Rubye Lane works collaboratively with hospice providers, physicians, care managers, and other healthcare professionals to support families seeking a peaceful residential care environment for their loved ones.
